2025 PGA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions: Joaquin Niemann
Rory McIlroy's thrilling victory at The Masters last month set up some compelling storylines for the second major of the season, the 2025 PGA Championship, which will be played this week at Quail Hollow in Charlotte, North Carolina.
McIlroy completed the career grand slam with his win at Augusta. If he wins again this week, he'll be halfway to a true grand slam. McIlroy has fared well at Quail Hollow throughout his career, having won four tournaments there. It's a course that favors big hitters — right up McIlroy's alley.
But McIlroy isn't even the favorite this week. That would be Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 player in the world. Scheffler cruised to an eight-shot victory at his most recent event, the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
Will golf fans be treated to a duel between McIlroy and Scheffler? Or will other top players intervene? Defending PGA champ Xander Schauffele is certainly capable of repeating. Justin Thomas and Ludvig Aberg have been hot lately. LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau has been frisky in recent majors, and other LIV players — Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and others — could contend.

Course History
Joaquin Niemann has played seven PGA Tour Championships, missing the cut in three of them and finishing 71st in his 2018 PGA Championship debut.
The 26-year-old Chilean has played in three Wells Fargo Championships at Quail Hollow, missing the cut in 2018, finishing 28th in 2019 and placing 18th in 2021.
Recent Form
Niemann has been great at sealing the deal in LIV Tour events this season, winning three of his seven LIV starts. He won the LIV Golf Adelaide by three strokes in February, won the LIV Golf Singapore by five strokes in March and won the LIV Golf Mexico City by three strokes last month. Niemann finished 29th at the first major of the season, The Masters.
Betting Outlook: 2025 PGA Championship Predictions
Although he’s a prodigiously talented young player who’s won three times on the LIV Tour this season, Niemann has shown little aptitude for majors thus far in his career. He’s played in 23 majors and hasn’t seriously contended in any of them. His best finish was 16th at the 2023 Masters.
Niemann’s odds to win are +3000 — far too short for a player who has yet to prove his mettle in golf’s biggest events. Fade the young Chilean this week.
